Summer has arrived and the upcoming summer holidays in Potsdam promise lots of fun for young and old! From July 24th to September 6th, the kids have the opportunity to let off steam in various programs and events for six and a half weeks. The city and state library, together with the Natural History Museum and the Potsdam Museum, organize a colorful holiday program that ensures exciting discoveries. A look at the highlights shows that there is something for every age group. The events are so diverse that you could easily lose track. But don't worry, we have put together the best tips for you.
It will be a real hit Magical summer school in Freiland Potsdam from July 24th to 27th - here the kids can develop their magical powers for free. Don't forget to register online because places are in high demand! Additionally, it starts on July 24th Summer Reading Challenge in the city and state library. Kids ages 7 and up can read three books, fill out a worksheet and collect great stamps.
Quench your thirst for knowledge in libraries and museums
This is an absolute must in summer Digital workshop in the city and state library. Here, young technology fans can try out VR glasses, use 3D printers and even interact with robots on July 24th, August 13th and September 2nd from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. - completely free of charge and without registration!
That too Soccer camp in Volkspark Potsdam is a real magnet for active kids aged 4 to 15. Football enthusiasts can take part on various dates between July 28th and September 5th for 199 euros. Registration is required, so it's worth being quick!
Experience creativity and adventure
Another exciting program item is the “WortWerk” writing workshop for young authors, which is offered free of charge from August 11th to 15th - creative minds aged 10 and over are welcome to register. Anyone interested in art should not miss the workshops under the motto “Holidays with Art” at the Barberini Museum. Children and young people can get creative here and invest just 15 euros per workshop. Registration takes place online.
There is also a holiday program entitled “The Superpowers of Animals” to discover at the Potsdam Natural History Museum. Here participants only pay 2 euros per person, plus entry to the museum.
