Bright eyes: Six new trainees start at regiobus!
On Monday, September 1st, 2025, there was a lot of activity in front of the regiobus company gate: six new trainees started their journey as bus drivers. Training manager Michael Wildemann warmly welcomed the committed young people and emphasized right at the beginning: punctuality is the be-all and end-all in public transport. Managing Director Martin Grießner's speech followed promptly and gave an insight into the valuable funding opportunities for the trainees. At regiobus we don't just focus on training; The focus is on the possibility of obtaining a professional qualification early.
A highlight of the event was the award given to Domenik Bulitz, who completed his apprenticeship as a vehicle mechatronics engineer early. He received a proud Regiobus coin for his achievements. Unfortunately, another early graduate, Friedrich Haack, was unable to attend. This shows that regiobus has taken a good path for training, which also shows that exceptional achievements have been recognized annually since 2020.
A look at the training
The new trainees bring with them a diverse mix of interests and backgrounds. Sarah Fiedler, who has already completed training as a media designer, now wants to take the wheel and become a bus driver because she loves being on the road. Julian René Reiße and Lucas Patrick Zeitner both expressed positive experiences; While the former heard about Regiobus from his grandfather's friends, the latter knows the region's timetables very well and prefers driving to an office job. Despite their different backgrounds, they are all united by their passion for bus driving.
The training to become a driving specialist (FiF) lasts three years and includes both theoretical and practical content. Training content includes safe driving of buses, knowledge of vehicle technology and customer contact. The first two years of training combine the basics and practical skills, while the third year deepens the knowledge. Intermediate examinations and additional qualifications such as the European Assistant are also offered, which increases the attractiveness of the training.
Advantages and career prospects
The training also comes with many advantages. With an income of 1,210.18 to 1,338.59 euros depending on the year of training, a 13th month's salary and 27 days of vacation, you are doing a good deal. After training, there is the possibility of being taken on a permanent job - a perspective that is particularly relevant in times when good skilled workers are in demand.
regiobus' commitment underlines the important role the company plays in local public transport and shows how they support their trainees throughout the entire training period. Trainees like Michael Wildemann are looking forward to accompanying the group on their journey and witnessing their development up close.
Anyone who is interested can apply for the training directly at regiobus: The requirements are a minimum age of 18, a secondary or secondary school leaving certificate and a class B driving license. Further details can be found on the regiobus website.
