Christmas markets under pressure: Beelitz relies on small but beautiful!
A lot is currently happening in the tranquil town of Beelitz with regard to the Christmas markets, but not everything is going as planned. Due to increased costs, the city has decided not to have large Christmas trees this year. Instead, smaller specimens are set up in the old town and in Fichtenwalde, which are looked after by skilled building yard employees. This decision shows that the city administration has a good hand when it comes to finding creative solutions without losing the festive atmosphere. In addition, the lighting in Beelitz will remain unchanged and will be illuminated with LED festive lighting from November 24th, which will continue to support the winter charm of the city.
The Christmas market in Seddin opens on December 20th at 3:30 p.m. on the church square. Here guests can admire a five-meter-high tree that is being transported from Neuseddin. For mulled wine lovers, the price is between 3.50 and 4 euros, and the LED lighting in Seddin will only be on for a few hours a day. This means that the Christmas market remains within a limited, cost-conscious framework and still appeals to the festive spirit.
Variety of Christmas markets in the region
Fichtenwalde is also trying to get financial support for her Christmas tree and could possibly put up one or two more stands. Here the mulled wine only costs 2.50 euros, and the cone market takes place on December 6th between 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., also an opportunity for a cozy get-together. Even in Treuenbrietzen, where the Christmas market takes place on November 29th between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in front of and in St. Mary's Church, the price of mulled wine remains reasonable at 3 euros.
In Wilhelmshorst, the size of the Christmas tree depends on donations and the market takes place on November 29th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. A special highlight awaits in Werder (Havel), where the Christmas market from November 28th to 30th will be offering a new children's offer. Anticipation is already building in the region.
Beelitz light magic
Another highlight that invites the people of Beelitz is the popular magic lights. Organizers offer tickets available at both entrances from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is important to note that the number of tickets available at the box office is limited and availability cannot be guaranteed. Free entry awaits younger visitors up to the age of five, while discounted tickets are available for teenagers and seniors. Here too, Beelitz shows that entertainment and Christmas joy don't have to be expensive. Problems when purchasing tickets can be clarified at any time at kontakt@lichterzauber-beelitz.de.
Overall, Beelitz is all about the pre-Christmas season with a colorful mix of markets and festive offers that keep the heart of the city beating despite financial challenges. While the lights shine and the smell of mulled wine and Christmas cookies fills the air, citizens and guests are invited to celebrate the contemplative time together.
