Potsdam presents: New digital recycling center revolutionizes delivery!

Potsdam-Drewitz, Deutschland - at the Potdam-Drewitz recycling center is happening! As of now, waste disposal companies can use the new self-service that was launched by the Potsdam (Step) city disposal. The recycling center not only changed structurally, but was also equipped with the latest technology. Step managing director Dr. Burkhardt Greiff explains that the new self-service offers offer users a flexible use time of six days a week-a total of three hours more than before. In this way, the citizens can now hand in their recyclings conveniently on every weekday and after work.

To be able to use the new service, a free user account in the MAEX app is necessary, which can be downloaded from both the App Store and Google Play Store. The registration goes quickly: After downloading the app, the user only has to tap on "register", confirm the data protection declaration, specify his email address and enter a confirmation code. You get access in no time.

The operation is uncomplicated, because when booking the appointment, the type of waste, the amount, the appointment and the time window are simply selected. Access to the recycling center then takes place via Bluetooth, whereby the gate is open automatically. So the entire process is handled simply and almost contactlessly.

What can be disposed of?

In the self-service, bulky waste can be released up to 1 m³ as well as light packaging, paper, cardboard, cardboard boxes, metal scrap and waste glass. For green and garden waste, costs of 3.93 euros per 100 liters are incurred, which can also be paid conveniently via the app via PayPal or credit card. So nothing stands in the way of problem -free and fast disposal.

An important note: Pollutants such as colors, old oil and car batteries are excluded from self-service and require the assessment by specialist staff, which is why these waste cannot be submitted via the digital solution.

The new acceptance times in Self-Service are Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Sunday and at night, however, the recycling center remains closed, which limits the planning somewhat.
