Construction site chaos in Potsdam: traffic forecast for the week ahead!

Things are turbulent in Potsdam this week, as several construction sites are disrupting the flow of traffic in the city. The renovations and diversions can pose a challenge for visitors and locals. A closer look at the current construction sites shows where drivers need to be particularly careful.

A striking example is theSchopenhauerstrasse, where work is being done between Luisenplatz and Hegelallee. Here it is important to pay attention to a partial blocking; only one northbound lane is available. It is possible to turn into Hegelallee, while Hegelallee itself remains closed in the direction of Schopenhauerstrasse. Detours lead via Pappelallee and Jägerallee. Access to the parking garage is still possible via Luisenplatz, which is a relief, especially for residents and customers.

Construction sites and closures in the city

On theL40 NuthestraßeDrivers must expect a closure of the Babelsberg exit, which was set up as a result of track construction work. In this context, a replacement rail service was set up between Platz der Unit and Fontanestrasse and Glienicke Bridge in order to maintain public transport.

TheNedlitzer Straßeis also affected; One side is blocked there in order to install house connections. Here, traffic heading out of the city can pass through the construction site, while traffic heading into the city is diverted via Georg-Hermann-Allee and Kiepenheuerallee. Pedestrians and cyclists are guided around the construction site, which ensures safety.

We find another bottleneck on thePotsdamer Chaussee, where there is also a partial closure due to drinking water and dirty water house connections. A mobile traffic light regulates the passage here. Who about theHorstweg bridgeYou have to expect diversions as the bridge is being renewed in the direction out of the city.

The situation onLeipzig triangleremains tense as the fourth phase of the work has begun. Traffic will be redirected into the city onto Heinrich-Mann-Allee, which could result in traffic jams in all directions. From September 4th, the project will move into the next construction phase.

The ADAC Maps provides valuable information about real-time traffic flows as well as short-term disruptions. This means drivers can be better prepared for the current traffic situation and possible dangers - be it slippery snow, aquaplaning or other weather conditions.

Other construction sites include:Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße / August-Bebel-Straße, where diversion via Stahnsdorfer Straße, Bernhard-Beyer-Straße and Bäkestraße applies. On theSchlossstrasseHowever, the street between Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and Werner-Seelenbinder-Straße is completely closed because district heating pipes are being laid. Access to Am Neuen Markt is via Siefertstrasse, although the one-way street rule has been temporarily lifted.

For theAmundsenstrasseand theStone StreetRestrictions have also been put in place. There are partial closures here that temporarily slow down traffic while on theGutenbergstrasseA new construction of the district heating pipeline will cause closures in sections. Pedestrians will be guided safely around the construction sites during this time.

TheFriedrich-Engels-Strasse (ZOB)suffers from closures of stopping areas that were necessary due to renovation work on defective concrete road slabs. This may also lead to changes to departure times and stops.

Finally, this is also the caseKartzower Dorfstrasseaffected by a full closure, and theZeppelin Streetis limited to one lane in each direction. Use that ADAC Maps to stay informed and to navigate safely through the labyrinth of construction sites.
