This extremely welcome campaign is carried out in cooperation with the DRK blood donation service to ensure patient care during the summer months when there are many donors on vacation. Every day there are 600 to 800 blood donations on the necessary list in Brandenburg and Berlin, a considerable need that is often not sufficiently covered, such as the Tagesspiegel reported.

For participation, healthy people from the age of 18 have to bring some time, because the entire process takes around 45 minutes. On the day of donation, it is advisable to take enough fluid and bring the ID card to identify. After the suitability for donation is checked in a short medical conversation, the blood donors can hand over around 500 milliliters of blood in just five to ten minutes, followed by a short break.
