The 13th Royal Wine Festival in Potsdam: A treat for all wine lovers!

The wait is over! The time will soon come, because it will open on Friday, July 11, 2025 13th Royal Wine Festival its doors at the picturesque Klausberg in Potsdam. At 4:30 p.m. the event will be ceremoniously opened by the German wine queen Charlotte Weihl and the regional wine queen of Saale-Unstrut, Emma Meinhardt. Participants can look forward to numerous fine wines and a varied program until July 13th.

A total of 15 winemakers from all parts of Germany, including five from Brandenburg, will present their fine wines. This celebration of German wine takes place in the historic Belvedere, a place where Frederick the Great once chose for his table grapes. Entry costs 6 euros and access is free for children and young people up to 16 years of age. You can easily travel by public transport; the “Drachenhaus” stop is just a few steps away.

A colorful program for connoisseurs

The event is not just about wine, but also about an exciting supporting program. On Friday evening, for example, visitors can discover wines from A for Ahr to M for Mosel and look forward to an interactive quiz with the wine queen. The event will also be accompanied by musical performances and bubble action. On Saturday, the day is all about baroque dances and innovative grape varieties, while a seminar on the “Burgundy Miracle of Germany” should be worth noting.

But that's not all! On Sunday the day begins with an evangelical morning devotion in the vineyard, followed by a morning pint and a concert by “The Swingin’ Hermlins”. There is something for every taste, and guests can taste and purchase the new vintage wine, which is officially sold at the festival, on site. Some bottles of the limited edition are only available this weekend and can then be found in the museum shops of the old palace kitchen of Sanssouci Palace as well as in Potsdam specialist shops and in the online farm shop.

For a good cause

The proceeds from the festival benefit the reconstruction and recultivation of the Royal Vineyard, which makes the event even more attractive. A visit to the Royal Wine Festival not only means enjoyment, but also an active contribution to the preservation of this historic place. The look back at Frederick the Great and his court will add a historical touch to the festival.

We are looking forward to a great weekend full of wine, cuisine and good company! The way is clear for the 13th Royal Wine Festival, which promises a true feast for the senses. Don't miss this opportunity and celebrate the diversity of German wine with us!
