Free museum day in Potsdam: Discover exciting exhibitions!

Breite Straße 131, 14467 Potsdam, Deutschland - On June 27, 2025, Potsdam becomes a melting pot of culture and education when four museums open their doors to free visits. On this special Friday, visitors can go to the Potsdam Museum href = "https://www.naturkundemuseum-potsdam.de/de/sonder exhibition-im-polarlicht-bis-30-november-Verlaengert"> Naturkundemuseum Potsdam , the Brandenburg Museum for the future, present and history and the film museum Potsdam. This campaign is part of a series of four Fridays that take place in the last month of each quarter and, above all, offer a great opportunity to experience the diverse exhibitions.

Brigitte Meier, the city's provisional deputy, emphasizes how important such offers are for society. The visit is particularly worthwhile for families: in the Potsdam Museum there is an exciting puzzle sheet for children aged 6 and over. Here the exhibition "Air | Image | Potsdam" shows more than 150 impressive aerial photos, supplemented by the constant exhibition "Potsdam. A city makes history".

variety in the Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum Potsdam opens its gates on this day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and not only offers the opportunity to discover the domestic wildlife of Brandenburg - including Wolf and Elch - but also the special exhibition "Animals in the Bular Lights". This was extended until November 30, 2025 and includes a variety of exhibits from the Nordic fauna, such as reindeer, snow owl and axchchen. The first public presentation of the variety, the largest marten in the world, is particularly gratifying.

The exhibition extends over 60 square meters and includes more than 20 animal preparations. It also addresses the adaptation of the animals to extreme cold and climate change. In addition, impressive northern shots are shown by the Potsdam photographer Susann Giese. Dr. Jobst Pfaender, the director of the Natural History Museum, is positive about the extension of the exhibition, which was originally only planned until June 15th.

Visiting experiences for all

In the Brandenburg Museum of Future, Present and History, the "Brandenburg. Exhibition" will be presented from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., which illuminates the history of the region for over 1000 years. The special exhibition "Signals of Power. Nauen, Kamina, Windhoek", which can be seen until November 2, is also worthwhile for those interested in history.

The Filmmuseum Potsdam, also open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., offers a permanent exhibition "Dream Factory", which shows the history of the Babelsberg film studios. On June 27th, visitors can also visit the "How to Catch a Nazi Operation Finale".

Free entry applies exclusively to individual visitors, while group leaders have to pay the usual group tariff. If you are planning a day full of culture, you can buy the museum combination card for only 12 euros, which is valid for an adult and two children or adolescents up to 18 years.
