Biogas heat for Wolfshagen: Sustainable energy and exciting events!
An exciting innovation in heat supply is currently being implemented in Wolfshagen. Here, the waste heat from a biogas plant is used to heat both the daycare center and local businesses cost-effectively and in a climate-friendly manner. This technology developed by the operator has already connected some users to the newly constructed pipe network, and further installations are being planned. The waste heat is generated from biomethane, which is a real advantage - CO₂ taxes that will apply to natural gas from 2027 are avoided. In the best case scenario, the biogas plant could supply the entire village with heat, but building additional pipes is a real challenge, as maz-online.de reports.
In the same region, the Mühlenberger Spezialitäten Wurst & Schinken Vertriebs-Gesellschaft in Perleberg shows how to approach company succession cleverly. One of the company's sons has already started working actively, while the second brother is also preparing to join the company. In this way, the company not only secures its future, but also wants to consolidate its market position while supplying around 500 customers in northern Germany with delicious meat products.
Other activities in the region
Another highlight in Prignitz is the upcoming “Baby Local” trade fair, which will take place on October 25th in Bad Wilsnack. Laura Bartels plans to provide new parents with comprehensive advice and at the same time create a network for families. This initiative not only supports parents, but also strengthens the community in the region.
Not to be forgotten is the Halloween party on October 30th in the festively decorated ballroom in Laaslich. DJ Felix Harrer will provide musical entertainment and underline the festive ambience.
Sustainability and modern technology
But it's not just Wolfshagen that focuses on sustainability. The Ruhe Group has also been active in Vehlow since 2010 and supplies around 250 households there with environmentally friendly district heating. This is obtained from a biogas plant that delivers an output of 2.74 MWel/h and produces enough energy for five combined heat and power plants. The heat supply extends via its own network, which not only supports the surrounding communities but also the ecological idea. Thanks to cooperation with local communities and associations, the technology is constantly improved and maintained, which further increases the quality of care.
The company relies on the latest technology and enables efficient control via its own fiber optic network. This means that supplies are always kept up to date while at the same time protecting the environment. Agriculture relies on year-round soil cover, which significantly reduces the use of fertilizers and pesticides. Since October 2021, the stables renovated in Vehlow have also met the standards of housing type 3 and now house 530 animals.
These developments clearly show how important sustainability and modern technologies are in the Prignitz region - a good hand for the future!
