Bridge Festival 2025: A festival full of joy and surprises in Schwaan!

The 28th Schwaan Bridge Festival was celebrated last weekend and the atmosphere was full of joy and enthusiasm. From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, visitors to Schwaan were able to enjoy a colorful program that brought families and friends together. On Saturday morning, people streamed into the market and experienced the first highlights of the event.

Even the start was a real eye-catcher: the “Mini-Fünkchen” from the Schwaaner Carnevalsverein (SCV) created a happy atmosphere with their practiced dance. Jakob Rese, who has now moderated the Bridge Festival for the fourth year, charmingly led through the program. Musical entertainment was provided by Carl Z. ut Schwaan, who performed well-known melodies in Low German, English and German.

Handicrafts and love of animals

Another highlight was the craft market, where regional artists presented their works. At the same time, the Schwaan animal protection association held a flea market and diligently collected donations for a good cause. Here you could not only get great bargains, but also do something for the animals.

A very special event was the purebred rabbit show organized by the M33 association, at which Marco Heerdegen was also awarded the Mayor's Cup for his “Red New Zealanders”. Fortunately, the festival was well attended: Helga Stopar and Hartmut Runk from Bützow as well as Marcus Krawatschke and his sons did not miss this spectacle.

Family time and entertainment

Younger visitors were well catered for with a free carousel and a hands-on magic show. Heike Molenda was particularly happy when she was able to use the carousel extensively with her granddaughter. In the afternoon there were rides and the eagerly awaited Roland Kaiser show.

The crowning finale took place on Sunday when participants fought for victory in the dragon boat race. This highlight was the perfect setting for an unforgettable day full of fun and community. The Bridge Festival has once again proven that it is an integral part of Schwaan's event calendar, bringing people from near and far together.

In summary, the 28th Schwaaner Brückenfest was a wonderful festival that delighted the hearts of the visitors and celebrated the team spirit of the community. We are already looking forward to the 29th edition next year!
