Large fire brigade: Legde celebrates 130 years in the bereaved!

Legde, Deutschland - something big in Legde! From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the Legde volunteer fire brigade celebrates its impressive 130th anniversary. Mayor Marius Will and local army leader Stephan Frank all invite you to take part in this special village festival. The anticipation of numerous guests is great, because the festival not only promises a journey through time in the history of the fire brigade, but also a lot of fun and entertainment for young and old.

On Saturday, June 28th, the parade will be accompanied by all 14 weirs of the Bad Wilsnack/Weisen area - a spectacle that should not be missed! The well-known fire brigade chapel Elbe-Havel-Land from Schollene, which invites you to celebrate and create mood with brass music.

a diverse program for everyone

The festival program begins on Friday at 6 p.m. with the official opening by Mayor Marius Will. And the sporting activities are not neglected either: a volleyball tournament on the sports field starts on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. All day long, visitors can look forward to a vehicle exhibition by Dibuka Seehausen and THW Wittenberge. Dibuka specializes in fire and disaster protection and will introduce special fire engines that also provide an insight into modern fire engineering.

Another highlight of the program is the water show with music and light from Dibuka, which begins on Saturday evening at 10 p.m. For the little guests there is an exciting children's program with a carousel, a trampoline, a bouncy castle and handicrafts. And if you want to experience a little journey through time in the past, you should not miss the theater performance of the fire brigade Grube - here it is humorous how the fire fighting looked 100 years ago.

Culinary delicacies and musical highlights

Culinary is also offered a lot on the fairground: from 12 p.m. there will be delicious pea stew from the goulash cannon, followed by a traditional coffee table at 2:30 p.m. A solemn appeal and honors are on the agenda at 3 p.m. In the evening, the Bravo discotheque from Karstädt provides musical entertainment before the fire dance with the Firesnake group and the glow show takes place at 10:45 p.m.

The Sunday starts at 10 a.m. with a lively musical morning pint and at 1.30 p.m. the Arabeske dance group from Havelberg appears. Another coffee party at 2.30 p.m. and the start of the raffle at 2:30 p.m. offer the perfect end to this great festival. Mayor Marius Will will also thank all supporters and donors of the Prignitz summer.

The fire brigade Legde can look back on an impressive story. It is part of a long tradition that goes back to Roman times when the first forms of fire protection organizations have already been launched. The development towards voluntary fire departments, as we know them today, increasingly began in Europe in the 18th century, often driven by the civil movements of the 19th century.
