Kletzke shines in the competition Our village has a future - prize money attracts!

Kletzke, Deutschland - On July 10, 2023, Kletzke became the scene of an exciting competition when the strict eyes of a jury were directed towards the tranquil village in the Prignitz as part of the 12th state competition "Our village has a future". The place that counts just 200 inhabitants had cleaned up with a lot of commitment and dedication and offered the jury a warm greeting in the "Honeystübchen" café.

The jury went on a tour in the Kremser to get a comprehensive picture of Kletzke. On the route, stops such as the fire brigade, the bookcase, the rectory and the church were approached. Local trade was not neglected either: At the Hildebrandt butchery there were not only tasty snacks and regional snacks, but also lively insights into the history and the offers of business.

strong cohesion and generous prices

Mayor Roland Zippel was surprised and pleased with the victory in the preliminary decision of the district of Prignitz. According to a report by RBB24, District Administrator Christian Müller (SPD) praised the strong cohesion of the village community. This community has made a significant contribution to the fact that Kletzke was able to win the competition at the district level and now represents Brandenburg at state level in 2025.

The competition not only received attention, but also financial support: Kletzke is pleased about a prize money of 10,000 euros - a sum that is to be invested in the improvement of the playground, among other things. In addition, two other towns were awarded prices: Barenthin got second place with 5,000 euros, while Sükow received third place and 3,000 euros.

The jury's decision at the state level is expected until July 18, 2023, with the federal competition "Our village has a future" is already planned for 2026. Participating village communities have the opportunity to present the diverse aspects of their lives in the areas of social, culture, economy and ecology. This competition should not only promote civic engagement, but also stimulate the development concepts to improve the infrastructure in rural areas.
