New operator at La Maison: Spanish cuisine meets Pritzwalk!
An exciting day for the Prignitz! On June 18, 2025 there will be lots of news and exciting events that will make the region shine. The breath of fresh air in gastronomy is blowing from Pritzwalk, where Esteve and Karen Rodríguez-Guardo have taken over the charming bed & bike hotel “La Maison” at Wittstocker Chaussee 3. Not only are overnight stays in cozy bungalows offered here, but also culinary delights with an exciting combination of Spanish and Colombian cuisine. Another reason to head there!
What else is there to discover? A gem is being created in Wittenberge: a new exhibition archive will be opened on June 28th at the town hall festival. With an investment of 245,000 euros, the city archive will be expanded and historical rooms will be made accessible to the public in the future. A highlight for history buffs!
Events and activities in the region
For the cycling enthusiasts among us: A guided bike tour to Plattenburg starts on June 22nd. The 44 kilometer long route leads through a picturesque landscape and costs just 5 euros for entry to a medieval spectacle. Registration is required by June 21st, so be quick! Children and parents can look forward to the next reading in the “Little Reading Wolves” in Pritzwalk. The last meeting before the summer break will take place on June 30th, after which things will continue on September 15th with new, exciting offers.
Another cultural highlight is coming up on June 20th in Perleberg, where the summer solstice will be celebrated with a fashion show, dancing and a live concert. In the same week, the “12-hour run for peace and tolerance” in Clara Zetkin Park invites you to take part.
Social events
The remembrance of the popular uprising of June 17, 1953 is honored with a wreath-laying ceremony in Perleberg, where the district administrator and district council members remember the victims. Environmental protection is also taken seriously in the region: a team of 15 people and 13 horses has already covered 1,052 km on the Peace Bell trek. The bell, made from war scrap, has the ambitious goal of reaching Jerusalem.
Finally, nature is also taken into account: the district is giving away deciduous trees for schools and daycare centers, with applications that must be submitted by July 11th. So your green thumb isn't neglected either!
