On Sunday, new traditions and modern technology were connected in Boberow when the Eldena cannon ceremoniously honored the new royal couple with twelve cannon shots. Tino Leverenz, a 41-year-old system electronics technician, and Pia Thurmann, an 18-year-old geriatric nurse, are the new representatives of the Boberow 1990 e.V.

The first use of the new royal couple is already pending: On July 26, Leverenz and Thurmann will demonstrate their skills at the shooting festival in Poreep near Putlitz. However, the way to the crown was not trivial. The old king decides on the new monarch on the basis of a shooting tournament, in which it is shot on a ring disc. Tino Leverenz scored 29 points, which made him the king, while all other applicants had scored either 30 or more or 10 or fewer points. The chairman Mathias Kuhrmann underlines equality in the selection process and was happy about the new queen, who has only been in the club for a few months.

Tradition meets progress here: The shooting club has brought its over 30 -year -old shooting range to shape in recent years. In a step that enthusiastically enthusiastic about the rifle friends, cameras were installed that broadcast the results live on tablets and a projector in the meeting room. Norman Vetter, computer scientist and hobby turkey breeder, has programmed an app that also shows the results and tables. The financing of comprehensive modernization was achieved exclusively through the membership fees, so that the association remains debt -free.

Every Sunday morning, the club members meet for exchange and shoot. These regular meetings not only strengthen cohesion, but also the enthusiasm for shooting sports. This is deeply rooted in Germany and is exercised by people of all ages and gender, regardless of the personal background. The shooting system shows itself as a living tradition that has adapted to social changes and which is increasingly also the focus of events such as the Boberower holidays.

The Boberower Festing Days, which took place from June 17th to 19th, 2022, celebrated the 32th anniversary of the shooting club and the 122th anniversary of the sea community. A diverse program awaited visitors: from a festival service to Kremser trips to the traditional royal shot of the old royal couple. From the proclamation of the new royal couple to appearances by comedians and bands, the festive season offered a colorful mix of entertainment for young and old.

The rifle system is shaped by local customs and rituals, and the removals and the social celebrations make it a real cultural Highlight in the region. These traditions are not only important for social life in the villages, but also promote community and cooperation.
