Today, on July 9, 2025, Deutsche Telekom officially opened a new antenna location in Lanz MAZ reported. This step brings Telekom another step closer to its goal of increasing mobile phone coverage in the district to almost 100%.
The numbers speak for themselves: Company spokesman Georg von Wagner announced that with the new antenna in Lanz, a total of 64 mobile phone locations are now active in the district. In recent years, significant investments have been made in expansion, which has also significantly improved the bandwidth and reception stability. At the beginning of 2023, new antenna locations were built in Karstädt and Perleberg and existing ones were expanded with LTE. The need for bandwidth is increasing by around 30 percent every year, which is causing Telekom to tirelessly push ahead with mobile communications expansion.
Planned expansions for the future
But that's not all: Telekom has big plans for the coming years. Over the next three years, 16 additional antenna locations will be added, and 29 existing locations will be equipped with the latest LTE and 5G technology. This will not only improve network coverage, but also ensure that the growing demands of our digital world can be met. In order to achieve this, Telekom relies on cooperation with municipalities and property owners.
