Shell starts innovative fast loading points in Berlin and Brandenburg!

Mahlower Straße, 14513 Teltow, Deutschland - On July 15, 2025, Shell took a strong step towards the future in Germany: A total of 32 new quick load points were put into operation in Berlin and Brandenburg. This initiative follows the trend towards electromobility, which is considered an important building block for the energy transition. The new charging points, primarily the Hypercharger HyC150 from Alpitronic, offer maximum charging power of 150 kW. Even the powerful HYC300 are used at two locations, which can provide up to 300 kW. This requires users a rapid and efficient charging of their electric vehicles, which also contributes to the independence of fossil fuels, as reports [Xpert Digital] (https://xpert.digital/ladeinfrastructure-fuer-die-electromobilitaet-in-Deutschland/).

particularly highlighted must be two Hyc300 fast charging stations that were installed at the Shell petrol station on Kaiserdamm in Berlin. Another copy of this powerful charging station is at the Rewe branch on the Buckower Damm. There are also two HYC150 charging stations. The Rewe branch in Emmentaler Straße even has three Hyc150 quick loaders, while two Hyc150 charges are available at other locations on Auerbachstrasse, Schnellstraße and Rauchstrasse. In Teltow, Brandenburg, a new charging station was also installed on the Rewe branch in Mahlower Strasse.

dynamic price models for charging

Another exciting element in this new opening is the introduction of dynamic prices for the quick shop that Shell started in a pilot project on June 30, 2025. This is the first of its kind in the public shop network in Germany. The prices on the charging stations are flexible and are based on the current electricity exchanges, such as going electric. As a result, the tariffs can fluctuate depending on the time of day and the range - at weddings with a lot of renewable energy, prices drop, while a high network load drives them up.

At the beginning of the project, the prices at six new locations were 0.56 euros per kWh, whereby the Rewe branch in the fast road is classified somewhat higher at 0.59 euros per kWh. Anyone who subscribes to the Shell Authorge E-Deal can secure a 25 percent discount to the electricity price, as well as benefit from a monthly basic price of 4.99 euros. The prices at the new locations are falling to 0.42 euros or 0.44 euros per kilowatt hour. This could stimulate electric car driving to save and at the same time promote the use of sustainable energies.

The role of charging infrastructure

But also the availability and quality of the charging infrastructure are crucial for the success of electromobility in Germany, as the study by Xpert Digital underlines. Electromobility plays a central role in climate protection and to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. Nevertheless, the ecological balance of electric cars remains dependent on the energy source. Therefore, the expansion of loading points is essential to create broader acceptance.

The new initiatives of Shell show that there is no time to lose. With powerful charging points and a flexible price model, access to electromobility is not only easier, but also more attractive. A good knack in the implementation of these technologies could prove to be crucial for sustainable mobility in the future
