In the heart of Brandenburg, the Social Initiatives Brandenburg gGmbH social responsibility and sustainability. Founded in May 2024, the organization is based at Walther-Ausländer-Straße 1, where it is actively committed to helping older people in particular. As part of their offer, high-quality second-hand furniture and clothing are provided. These are aimed primarily at people with limited budgets who often rely on such support.
A new flyer provides information about the current offers and shows the gGmbH's wide-ranging commitment. In addition to selling well-preserved items, the organization makes a significant contribution to conserving resources and reducing waste. Donate for a good cause
Donations in kind are of great importance for the implementation of their services. Loud sen-ev.de Various donations are needed, including used furniture, clothing, toys, books, dishes and much more. The conditions are simple: only donations that are in good condition and can be reused are accepted. There are special instructions, especially for textiles that should be clean and fashionable. These should not be delivered in bags or sacks, but rather in a laundry basket or box.
Donations are accepted daily from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays until 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you would like to donate larger pieces of furniture, you can arrange a viewing appointment. However, there are some restrictions: Furniture or items that cannot be accepted due to lack of space or lack of demand should be clarified in advance.
Not just local, but also sustainable
The importance of sustainability will also be discussed in the upcoming 6th plenary event Sustainability platform Brandenburg on July 10, 2025. This takes place in the Brandenburg Museum for the Future, Present and History in Potsdam and alternates between presence and online format via Zoom. The event is aimed at anyone interested in engaging in an exchange and learning from new ideas.
A comprehensive information brochure is provided that provides an overview of the platform's goals and achievements. Further information on progress between 2019 and 2024 and the associated challenges and opportunities is also part of the status report presented at this event. With these initiatives, Brandenburg shows that social cohesion and sustainable development can go hand in hand. It remains to be hoped that both the social initiatives and the sustainability platform are accessible to a broad public and contribute to the positive development of the community.
