- 41 – 50 km/h: 400 €, 2 Punkte, 1 Monat Fahrverbot
- 51 – 60 km/h: 560 €, 2 Punkte, 2 Monate Fahrverbot
- 61 – 70 km/h: 700 €, 2 Punkte, 3 Monate Fahrverbot
- über 70 km/h: 800 €, 2 Punkte, 3 Monate Fahrverbot
What many people don't know: At speeds of up to 100 km/h, 3 km/h is deducted before the fine is applied, and at higher speeds it's even 3 percentage points, as anwalt.org reports. This might make things a little easier for some people, as long as they stay within the tolerance range.
Drive carefully
The road traffic regulations are not only there as a deterrent, but also to increase road safety. Sometimes it can be a matter of common sense. Moving quickly is often not a reason to ignore the speed limits. And don't forget - a fine can be imposed quickly, and it could potentially lead to more than just financial costs if a driving ban occurs.
