The left demands: Antifa for social prosperity - an appeal for unity!

The political landscape in Germany is shaped by the current distribution issues, and on the left there are topics such as rents, wealth tax and social spending at the top of the agenda. Ines Schwerdtner, the party leader, launched the motto "Antifa is the welfare state" and emphasizes that access to the AfD in regions without public areas such as transport connections, hospitals and playgrounds is easier. An interesting but controversial discussion is about the economic connections between social problems and the rise of the AfD. According to Schwerdtner, this is an indication that fascism attacks the lower population layer as an elite project, which indicates a deeper social connection.

DIE LINKE Bundestag faction has recently organized a conference on wealth distribution, in which inequality, various control models and the role of the super-rich were discussed. Not only the national perspective on financial situation was criticized, but also the international inequalities, which are manifested by wars and border troops, was put to the test. The aim is to understand social rights globally and to expand across national borders.

But to be really part of this discussion, internationalistic thinking is essential. This demand is supported by Rosa Luxemburg, one of the most important Marxist pioneer. Luxembourg, which is characterized by its Jewish, Polish and German origin, saw the socialist international as its only “mother country”. She rejected national independence claims and not only criticized national oppression, but also called for a unity of all workers against the capitalist system and imperialism.

Luxembourg knew about the challenges of nationalism and warned that it is often used as an excuse for militarism and wars. In her writings and speeches, which belong to classics of anti -war literature, she called for an international solidarity of the proletariat. Your inheritance is particularly important today with regard to global inequality and the challenges of climate change.

social justice think holistically

The current striving for the left, social problems with an international perspective, is inspired by luxury ’ideas. It is argued that capitalism requires global resistance and has to accept new contours in order to meet today's social struggles. In a world in which extremism and racism gain ground again, Luxembourg's final message is clear: it takes a global, socialist approach instead of a withdrawal to national thinking.

The need to strengthen international socialism and to combat the challenges of capitalism across the front will be essential. Be it the justice of distribution or the resistance to imperialism - it remains to be seen how these topics will influence the future political agenda of the left in Germany. Because one thing is clear: social rights are not only national affairs, but also belong on the global stages of that time.
