Diedersdorf celebrates 650 years: A celebration despite constant rain!

In the picturesque district of Diedersdorf, located in the municipality of Großbeeren, a real festival was celebrated: 650 years of village community! Despite the persistent rain, those present were not discouraged and made the best of the situation. The celebrations took place on the castle lawn in front of the church, where everything revolved around the impressive history of the place. The election winner Martin Wonneberger and mayor Dirk Steinhausen opened the festival with two courageous taps on the tap. “It was my first attempt,” confessed Wonneberger, while the castle mistress Salina Worm and innkeeper Maximilian were blatantly impressed with their skills maz online reported.

The mayor not only put a lot of commitment into the opening speech, but also shared exciting details about the development of Diedersdorf. 650 years ago the town only had a few dozen inhabitants; today the community has grown to over 1000 people. In order to offer the guests a warm atmosphere, the festival program was enriched with dance performances by traditional costume and line dancers, who received great applause from the audience.

A look into the past

The celebrations were supplemented by a specially created short chronicle written by Constanze Krause. It presents the history of Diedersdorf since it was first mentioned in 1375 and also offers a comprehensive look back at the last 75 years. Not only was material from Werner Mader's chronicle used, but old archive sources and images were also added to the brochure, which can be purchased on site in the village church. This means that residents and interested parties not only get a nostalgic look back, but also a valuable insight into the historical developments of the village gemeinschaftsleben-diedersdorf.de holds on.

Villages through the ages

Diedersdorf is a prime example of the development of villages in Germany, which has undergone enormous change in the last few decades. In many regions, everything revolves around maintaining rural structures and strengthening local self-government. The book "The village: rural life in Germany yesterday and today” by Gerhard Henkel addresses exactly this problem. Around 50% of Germans live in the countryside, despite a temporary decline in the rural population, which is referred to as “rural exodus”. Henkel not only advocates for the preservation of these places, but also sheds light on which modern technologies are finding their way into agriculture, so that you can ultimately see the advantages of rural life in a new light. lbib.de presents the book in a current edition that includes new chapters and updated information on the rural way of life.

This exciting journey through time through 650 years of Diedersdorf showed how important the community is and how it sticks together in many small things. The festival not only kept the local history alive, but also celebrated being there for one another in this tranquil community - despite all the challenges of the weather.
