Hofidylle in Jüterbog: Ophthalmologist is looking for girls for a shared apartment!

In Jüterbog, not far from Berlin, a courageous woman tackles her dreams. Manulita Renke, who acquired a former LPG site in Fröhden two decades ago, has created a small place of peace and community out of a neglected piece of land. Where once only nettles grew and paved paths dominated, there is now an idyllic farm with its own shop and fruit trees that produce delicious apricots. But Renke has not only created a beautiful environment, she also has a goal in mind - she is looking for roommates for a planned shared apartment for women between 50 and 60 years old.

The large living space of 360 square meters includes a cozy living room of 200 square meters as well as two additional rooms measuring 17 and 22 square meters. “I just want to find good people to talk to,” she explains. However, she clearly communicated that male roommates were not an option. So far the search for the right roommates has not been successful, but Manulita remains optimistic.

The path to the farm and the challenges

Before moving to Jüterbog, Renke lived in Berlin, where she studied medicine and opened an ophthalmologist's practice. But the practice turned out to be financially unsustainable. She decided to start over and bought the run-down building for 70,000 euros. Since then, she has invested around 800,000 euros in renovations, turning the former ruin into something beautiful. In the first three years she often felt like a visitor, but has now developed a deeper connection to her farm.

This passion for her living space is in stark contrast to her other reality of life: In addition to her commitment to the farm, Renke works 40 hours a week as an ophthalmologist. “It’s hard, but I enjoy it,” she says. In addition to the practical work, social contacts are also important to her, which is why she sees setting up a shared apartment as the next step in her life to experience more community.

A look beyond Jüterbog

The movement that Manulita Renke wants to initiate with her shared apartment planning reflects a growing interest in rural life. More and more people, especially from urban areas, are moving out into the countryside. The combination of interesting people and a beautiful living space, like in Renke's farm, could be a solution for many who are looking for an alternative way of life.

Anyone interested in becoming part of this community can contact Manulita Renke directly at the telephone number provided. The door to a new chapter in her life is open, and perhaps the right roommate will soon come along.
