Commuters beware: Massive train cancellations and construction sites until December!
Today is November 6th, 2025 and there are some changes for commuters in the Teltow-Fläming region to keep an eye on. Deutsche Bahn has announced that several train connections will be suspended or rerouted until mid-December. In particular, the RE3 and RE4 are canceled between Berlin-Südkreuz and Jüterbog/Oehna until December 13th, which has a significant impact on commuter traffic. The replacement traffic will be organized with buses, as maz-online.de reports.
Other changes affect RE8, which will be rerouted until December 13th. Trains no longer stop at important station points such as Berlin Hbf and Potsdamer Platz. Instead, a diversion to Berlin-Lichtenberg will be offered, with additional stops in Schöneweide and Ostkreuz. The RB22 also has to hit the brakes due to construction work between BER Airport and Königs Wusterhausen - trains will be canceled here from December 4th to 7th.
Construction sites and traffic disruptions
The situation is complicated by numerous construction sites in the area. The traffic delays on the L70 in Stülpe will last until November 14th due to drinking water work. Blankenfelde-Mahlow is also particularly affected: the connecting road between Lückefeld and B96a will remain partially closed until December 11th because a cycle path is being built. Road users should be prepared for traffic light regulations.
At Mahlow train station, access to the passenger tunnel must be redirected by November 21st; Access is only possible via Mahlower Straße. To ensure that pedestrians and cyclists travel safely, a barrier-free detour will be set up. In Ludwigsfelde, the Am Birkengrund street will remain a one-way street until the end of 2026, and here too, a diversion will create additional challenges for road users.
Further restrictions and calls for caution
In Luckenwalde, Luckenwalder Straße is closed until November 28th, but pedestrians can use the northern sidewalk. Due to civil engineering work to develop waste water, Zossen is expecting restrictions from Cottbuser Straße until December. There are also difficult traffic situations in Jüterbog: Schützenstrasse is completely closed and diversions are necessary. Work in this area will continue until spring 2026.
With all of these changes and construction sites affecting commuter routes, those affected are well advised to plan alternative routes and find out about current developments in good time. Deutsche Bahn and the regional transport companies ask for your understanding of these necessary measures to improve the infrastructure.
