The sales times must not last longer than six hours and must be outside of the main church services.
In an international comparison, the German regulations are in the middle range. While there are very few restrictions in Eastern European countries such as the Czech Republic or Hungary, shops in Greece are largely closed. In Spain, however, shops are allowed to open on certain Sundays of the month and throughout December.
