Zossen has a new treasurer: Jörn Perlick is taking over the helm!
In Zossen there is a breath of fresh air in the Kämmerer-Stube. Jörn Perlick has been the city's new treasurer since November 1, 2025, succeeding Jan Krolik, who has held the office since January 2021. Despite the change, Krolik will remain with the city as managing director of the Zossen housing association and will continue to leave his footsteps in the administration. Perlick brings with him almost 20 years of experience in the financial administration of the city of Königs Wusterhausen and knows the sophisticated world of municipal finances very well.
Here in Zossen we are looking forward to a new beginning. Perlick's previous position was the Office for Internal Administration and Finance in the Oder-Spree district, where he was able to gain valuable experience. It is interesting how his involvement in Königs Wusterhausen ended after a new mayor no longer wanted him at his side. At 59, Perlick is now ready to bring his experience to Zossen. He has a degree in engineering economics, is married and has an adult son, which gives him the opportunity to incorporate the family perspective into his work.
Return to analogue and tradition
This development highlights how the omnipresence of technology in households is perceived as burdensome, leading many to retreat to analog hobbies and spaces. Researchers, including architects like Yan M. Wang, warn about the negative effects of ever-present technology and emphasize the importance of a balanced lifestyle. The goal is clear: to build an efficient and sustainable administration that meets the needs of citizens. A balancing act between innovation, security and proximity to citizens – that is the future that not only Zossen, but also many other municipalities in Germany are preparing. This shows that both the return to traditions and the challenges of digitalization are present in our everyday lives and in our cities - and this will bring exciting developments in the coming years.
