Brandenburg celebrates 25 years of partnership with Lubuskie - a success model!
A special partnership is celebrated in Brandenburg: The official connection with the Polish Voivodeship of Lubuskie has existed for 25 years. At various events in Potsdam, in which delegations from Lubuskie also took part, the importance of this longstanding friendship was emphasized. Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) emphasized that this partnership serves as a bridge into the future, especially in cooperation in the German-Polish government commission and in Brussels. The representation of common interests is in the foreground, as the Uckermarkurier reports.
"Interreg BB-PL-common activities, sustainable effects, 25 years of partnership" was the motto of a major conference in Zielona Góra, which was also dedicated to the anniversary. Brandenburg's European Minister Robert Crumbach emphasized the cross -border cooperation, which acts as an engine for integration, economic development and cultural exchange. During his first visit to Lubuskie as European Minister, Crumbach spoke to important regional actors about current topics and joint projects, such as the Ministry For infrastructure and state planning Brandenburg reported.
diverse projects for the future
As part of the partnership, numerous cross -border projects were launched. This includes initiatives in the area of tourism along the route via Marchionis, the protection of natural and cultural heritage in the UNESCO Geopark Muskau fold arch and a joint medical care by the Naëmi Wilke-Stift in Guben. The euro regions of Spree-Neiß-Bober and Pro Europe Viadrina also successfully present small projects that contribute to strengthening regional cooperation.
Not only Lubuskie is the focus: Brandenburg is already thinking about new partnerships, for example with Hungary. CDU economic politician Frank Bommert led a delegation from the Hungarian parliament, which, among other things, visited a dairy farm and a asparagus in Kremmen. The goal remains clear: better contacts within Europe, even if the Hungarian government is criticized. The connection of these relationships could set new impulses in the future, as the Uckermarkurier emphasizes.
A look into the future
The Interreg A program provides the financial basis for many of these projects. In the funding period from 2021 to 2027, the EU provides a total of 88.3 million euros from the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDRE). In particular, the district of Märkisch-Oderland, the district of Oder-Spree, the district of Spree-Neiße as well as the cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Cottbus as well as the entire Lubuskie Voivodeship. This shows how important the strengthening of cooperation is for cohesion and trust among the European regions, as on the website of Cooperation without borders.
Overall, the celebrations and the experience already made reflect the spirit of cooperation: The partnership between Brandenburg and Lubuskie remains alive, a source for exchange and development that hopefully still fruit.
