Ensemble Quillo from Falkenhagen receives Opus Classic for Young Advocation!

The ensemble Quillo from Falkenhagen did it: On June 29, 2025, it was awarded the coveted opus classical 2025 in the youth promotion category. This award is not only a personal success for the ensemble, but also the first opus classical price that goes to Brandenburg. A highlight of her work is the music theater project "Future tones", which was premiered in the spring of 2024 in the Schlosstheater Rheinsberg. This makes it clear how important the commitment of Quillo for the promotion of children and adolescents in music, such as nordkurier.de reports.

The “Future Stones” project not only bundled the talent of young musicians, but also confronted the participants with pressing topics such as climate change and personal life questions. The aim was to bring children and adolescents together from different living environments and to strengthen their creative expression. The whole thing was supported by the DrosoS Foundation, which was actively supported by the Drosos Foundation, such as [Strelitzius.com] (https://strelitzius.com/2025/25/fuer-das-musheaterprojekt-zentstoene- Urchung-in-Rheinsberg-opus-klassik-2025--------- --quillo/)) emphasized.

a room for creative development

The Quillo workshop is an integral part of the academy and brings a variety of students, including special students, with professional musicians. Not only musical skills are trained here, but also promoted practical experience in cooperation and social participation. Hundreds of students have been involved since the beginning of the workshop, and the potential is constantly being expanded. "Lock office", another project of the ensemble, collects stories from the region and transforms them into musical performances.

Making music together also means living democracy - and Quillo skilfully puts that into practice. The mobile formats such as the Landqultour and the Randußqultour bring music to people: whether on village places or on walks, Quillo ensures that contemporary music can be experienced in unexpected places.

The future in view

The award ceremony for the Opus Classic will take place on October 11th and 12th, 2025 in Berlin. It is an important moment that not only recognizes the services of the ensemble, but also puts part of the cultural landscape of Brandenburg into the spotlight. The ideas of cultural education and social responsibility are reflected here that Quillo has followed so committed over the past 20 years. This award could certainly serve as a catalyst for future projects.

The Society for the Promotion of Classical Music is responsible for the organization of the Opus Classical and selects the award winners by an independent jury of experts from the music and media industry. Without a doubt, the award will be a festive event at which the success of Quillo is duly celebrated, and shows that contemporary music and rural areas belong wonderfully together, as miz.org emphasizes.
