Flea market in Sanzkow: discover 777 years of tradition and jewelry!
What a celebration in Sanzkow! On the occasion of the 777th anniversary, the village street became a promenade and the flea market took on a very special charm. On June 28, 2025, the community not only celebrated its historic date, but also the meeting of neighbors, friends and bargain hunters. Preparations were already in full swing as the numerous stands were set up and the singing of happy visitors filled the air. Uckermark courier reports from 24 dealers and many spontaneous people who didn't miss the opportunity to offer their treasures.
Visitors from near and far strolled through the rows and showed keen interest in bric-a-brac and rarities. A highlight was certainly the stand of Jens Kerndt, who moved to Sanzkow from Saxony three years ago. He presented decorative items, old tools and household items. His wife Nancy was happy about the friendly atmosphere in the community, which was also reflected in the conversations with other market visitors.
A colorful day for the whole family
The festival program was packed and offered something for everyone. In addition to the flea market, which started at 10 a.m., a celebratory service in the church in Sanzkow and a parade were also organized. At 2 p.m. the participants marched from the church to the community center, where from 4 p.m. Farmer Korl ensured a good atmosphere. For the little ones there were games, face painting and even pony rides - amazing entertainment! For the grown-ups there was an auction at 5 p.m. that benefited the second construction phase of the play and leisure facility. Northern Courier highlights that the tradition of the parade goes back more than 700 years and the locals are proud of this historic event.
Michael Bauer also made a special bargain, offering his canoe with paddles for 150 euros, and at Klaus-Dieter Börner from Steinmocker you could find real nostalgic charm with coffee grinders and trains in nominal sizes TT and N. There was a variety of food available for the hungry visitors, including cotton candy, sushi, burgers and hot dogs. Among the guests was Melanie from Bartow, who was happy about a large rum pot for her garden.
The flair of the flea markets
Flea markets in Germany are not only a popular way to find rarities and antiques, they also offer a relaxed atmosphere in which people come together. In this country there are a large number of markets not only in large cities such as Berlin or Hamburg, but also in rural regions, which makes the offering even more exciting. Germany.travel reports that many markets take place regularly and serve not only as sales platforms but also as social meeting places.
The flea market in Sanzkow showed how lively and important such events are for the communities. It was a real success, as Arnim Böckmann from the organization team emphasized, and the huge turnout speaks for itself. The relaxed afternoon with coffee and cake in the community center also set a nice example of community support.
