Large control at Neurochlitz: drugs, stolen goods and arrest warrants!
On Monday morning, a remarkable commitment to drug crime was visible during a large -scale check on the B2 near Neurochlitz, which was carried out by the police, customs and federal police. The officials discovered a drug cartel in mini format and at the same time carried out measures to arrest persons. This comes from a report by Nordkurier
Seven drivers were tested as part of the controls because they were under the influence of drugs. Another driver was the unpleasant surprise of an alcohol content of 0.9 per thousand. In a particularly explosive case, a 33-year-old man from Poland was arrested, who had an open arrest warrant and was now brought to the correctional facility. A small van that tried to escape control was stopped by civil investigators. The cargo space was surprisingly filled: electric tools and machines worth around 60,000 euros, presumably stolen, were waiting for their discovery. The driver of the van was also under drug and had no driver's license.
increasing pressure against drug crime
The current situation is not an individual measure, but part of a broader strategy that was introduced by stationary border controls on the German borders to Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Since October 2023, these controls have resulted in more than 5,000 arrests with open arrest warrants, such as "https://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/article251810686/grenzkonrollen-schleuser-Drogen-fückte-lauble-belanz-belanz-belanz-belanz-belanz-schenden.html" Class = "Source_2"> Welt reported. In addition to combating the slumping crime, the containment of drug trafficking is also one of the main goals of these measures. In the period from October 2023 to April 2024, over 35,000 unauthorized entry from migrants were registered.
died condition also has an impact on society: In 2023, around 347,000 drug criminal cases were recorded in Germany, which means an increase of 2 percent compared to the previous year. The proportion of cannabis cases is particularly high, which, despite the partial legalization, has still risen since April 2024. According to Statista these cases made up over 90 percent of drug criminal matters. A serious point of view is the increasing number of drug deaths that grew to around 2,230 in 2023.
Similar initiatives like those in Neurochlitz illustrate that the authorities will extend the controls by December 15, 2024 in order to be able to counter the drug trafficking and accompanying crimes. The Situation requires progress and a clear handling of drug crime, which also has the health and social challenges that causes it.
