An exciting week for handball fans in the region: Last weekend the 29th district sports games in handball took place, which were played with a lot of commitment and passion by the young athletes. The event not only attracts local talent, but is also one of the most important dates in the handball calendar. The focus was on the C youth teams, where the boys and girls from Berolina Lychen shone and secured the gold medal. Silver went to the talented girls from SG Uckermark, while the girls from SV Fortuna Prenzlau had to settle for bronze. The performance of Johanna Haase from Lychen, who was named best goalkeeper, was particularly outstanding, while Nele Weiss brilliantly defended her place as best player. The potential of the participants could already be sensed in the first encounter between the two Lychen teams, which ended with an exciting 17:17. In the end, Lychen I secured the gold medal, and the silver medal went to Lychen II. Bronze went to the team from SV Fortuna Prenzlau.
Honor for the D-Youth
The D-Youth was also in the spotlight. In the female D youth competition, Fortuna Prenzlau prevailed against the teams from Lychen, SG Uckermark and Templiner SV Lok. Margarete Hauke was honored as the best goalkeeper. The players Antonia Okoye from Prenzlau and Martha Reinicke from SG Uckermark were also able to be celebrated as the best players. In the boys' D youth category, Berolina Lychen didn't have to fear any opponents and won the title, while SG Uckermark delivered a strong performance and Fortuna Prenzlau secured the bronze medal. Kevin Heise and Johnny Foltis from Lychen were recognized as the best goalkeeper and best player.
This remarkable tournament could only be successful thanks to the excellent organization of SV Fortuna Prenzlau, which was praised for its implementation by Sylvia Konang from the sports youth team. The referees from Prenzlau and Templin ensured everything ran smoothly and had no problems with fairness.
