Cell phone network and internet: Where MV lags behind and where it shines!
Nowadays, good network coverage and fast internet access are essential for many people. However, in some areas of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, especially in Prignitz and Uckermark, this seems to be a rather rare commodity. A survey of 16,664 participants showed that satisfaction with mobile and internet coverage in these regions is at an all-time low. Loud Northern Courier Prignitz takes last place in the ratings with 5.45 points.
The survey evaluated several criteria, including mobile network coverage and progress in broadband expansion. Schwerin achieved the best results with 6.74 points, followed by Northwest Mecklenburg and Rostock. These are clearly better values for many citizens, but the overall average of 6.23 points is above the average of 5.88. The network quality therefore exceeds public transport connections (4.95) and health care (4.82), although not consistently for all districts.
The top and flop communities
A closer look at the communities shows a rather mixed picture. Stralendorf leads the ranking with 8.83 points, followed by Broderstorf and Pampow. On the other hand, there are communities like Bad Wilsnack, which has 5.03 points and is therefore the worst rating. The survey also provides vivid information about the dissatisfied participants, who often complained about poor network coverage.
