Cancer defeated: Uckermärker Junge receives dream guitar from donors!

Uckermark, Deutschland - What's new in the Uckermark? A touching event recently caused a lot of sensation: a teenager who has been treated against cancer in the University Medical Center Berlin for months was able to look forward to a special surprise. The association "Uckermark against Leukemia" (UGL) made him the wish of the heart-a brand new Yamaha electric guitar. Many people had reacted to a call for donations and thus contributed to putting a smile on the face of this music lover. The association focused on the public support in order to draw attention to the fates of children with cancer. The UGL team would like to thank all the donors and hopes that the young man can soon play his first song.

The fundraising campaigns that the association organizes are diverse and range from cake basars to raffle. Over 22,000 euros were put together in the last campaign alone, which initiated the Rewe markets in the region. Doreen Rösler, market manager in Angermünde, handed the check personally to the club chairwoman Ines Baumgarten. These financial resources are not only used for the needs of individual children, but also flow into the planning for a patient mobile, which can also be transported in particular.

help for the whole family

The support of the association is not only limited to children with cancer. The challenges that the families affected are enormous. Families often have to process the severe shock of a cancer diagnosis and reorganize their lives. "The way back to everyday life is long and arduous," adds German Cancer Aid, which emphasizes that not only the sick children, but also siblings and parents need sensitive care.

The UGL's further commitment includes typing campaigns for the German bone marrow donor file and the establishment of a parent kitchen in the children's oncology of the Charité. These help to make the hospital stay a little more bearable and create space for the whole family to stick together. The steadily growing need for support also makes it clear that the association is dependent on donations in order to continue to help.

If you also want to help to improve the lives of sick children and their families, you can transfer donations directly to the association's account. From a total of 300 euros per year, a donation certificate for the tax office is issued.

Finally, it remains to be said: It is in our hands to give hope. Together we can make a difference. Every euro counts, and maybe the next song that the young musician plays on his new guitar is a thank you to everyone who helped.
