The anticipation for the 2025 Women's Handball World Cup is increasing: This big event will take place in Germany from November 27th to December 14th. In the run-up to this sporting highlight, the Handball Association is inviting people across the country to mini world championships, where youth teams replay the schedule of the Women's World Cup. A highlight is the upcoming mini-tournament, which will be held in Templin on Sunday, September 21st. The organizers have prepared well and are looking forward to exciting matches.
The 2025 Mini World Cup is all about handball, with a motto that is not only synchronized with the big event, but also promotes young talent. Participants are Templiner SV Lok, MTV Wünsdorf, HV Grün-Weiß Werder and SV Lok Rangsdorf. The teams compete in mixed teams, with a maximum of three girls per boys team allowed on the field. Each team represents a country, so the Templiners are at the start for Denmark, the Werderans for Cuba, Wünsdorf for Sweden and Rangsdorf for China.

The tournament begins on Sunday at 11 a.m. in the sports hall at the high school in Templin. Templiner SV Lok will play the opening game against HV Grün-Weiß Werder. The Mini World Cup includes the categories wD and mD, each with 32 teams per category. The preliminary rounds start from October 3rd, 2025, followed by the main rounds and a final round on November 30th, 2025. Registrations have already started and can be submitted until July 6th.
The structure of the Mini World Cup stipulates that each team is assigned a country that plays in the professional tournament. The draw for the World Cup groups will take place on July 17th, after registrations have closed, while the preliminary round will be held in 8 groups with 4 teams each.
