A new wind at Oli & Pia”: business takeover causes a surprise!
A lot has happened at the traditional toy shop “Oli & Pia” in the heart of Templin. After almost 25 years of tireless commitment under the leadership of Jessika Stöckel, who wielded the scepter for 14 years, a change is now coming. From July 4th, Julia Suckow will take over the business with fresh enthusiasm. Jessika, who worked as a dental technician in Berlin, is returning home to find more time for her family and would like to thank her loyal customers.
The selection in the “Oli & Pia” toy shop is colorful and diverse. Here you will not only find wooden toys and family games, but also everything a child's heart desires: from princess toys to horse toys, experimental games, books and even outdoor utensils. The special individual pieces that can be individually personalized will also continue to be offered. Suckow, who previously worked in field sales in the fashion industry, has a good feel for the needs of her new customers. “Switching to the toy industry is a conscious decision for me,” says the new owner.
A look into the future
The store will reopen on July 4th at 2 p.m. and visitors can look forward to a joyful celebration complete with surprises, balloons and face painting. The new owner is full of ideas and wants to maintain the family character of the business, although personal advice will remain an essential part of the offer. “The name and concept of the business remain unchanged,” explains Julia Suckow.
The toy industry as a whole is moving like a pendulum. Statista reports that although sales have collapsed, the industry is still recording high sales. In 2024, sales in Germany were around 4.4 billion euros, remaining above the pre-pandemic level. Despite the youthful challenges, the industry is still an important sector of the economy, employing more than 9,700 people.

“Oli & Pia” is not just a shop, but a point of contact for young and old in Templin. With a fresh face at the helm, the community is looking forward to an exciting future in the world of toys. What could be nicer than putting a smile on your children's faces?
