Queen and King Festival: volleyball action and beach parties in Gramzow!

On the last weekend in August it's that time again: from August 29th to 31st, the eagerly awaited “Queen and King of the Court” festival will take place on the banks of the Großer Kuhsee near Gramzow. This third edition of the event, organized by Alexander Stephan and Lasse Schneider, promises an unforgettable weekend with high-class beach volleyball, a special floodlit atmosphere and a diverse supporting program.

The festival not only attracts athletes and volleyball fans, but also connoisseurs: a colorful food market provides culinary delicacies, while the beach party with a young regional DJ heats up the atmosphere. When it comes to sporting activities, visitors can look forward to a new tournament format that is gaining more and more fans. Up to five teams play on the field at the same time, and points can only be scored on the “Kings side”. This dynamic format brings a breath of fresh air to the volleyball scene and has proven to be extremely popular in recent years.

High-class tournament format and exciting finals

The tournament itself is held in two rounds: In the first Play Off Round, the team with the most points advances, while in the Elimination Round the weaker teams are eliminated. This combination of different rounds offers excitement until the end, especially in the finals, which end in the last round when time runs out or a team reaches 15 points. With a sporting level that is considered higher than in previous years, expectations are high.

The highlight of the festival are the finals, which take place on Saturday evening at 9.30 p.m., when the new “Queens and Kings of Karlshof” are crowned. The enthusiastic crowd can look forward to a thrilling finale as hundreds of spectators are expected to attend the warm-up tournament on Friday evening, which will take place under floodlights.

A celebration for the whole family

As in previous years, entry to the festival is free on all days, making it an ideal destination for families and sports enthusiasts. In addition, a separate youth tournament will be held on Sunday, marking the comeback of the active volleyball tradition in Gramzow. The youth teams have regularly qualified for state championships, which shows the commitment and passion for the sport of volleyball in the region.
