Storm warning for Uckermark: wind gusts of up to 55 km/h expected!

Today, June 18, 2025, the German Weather Service (DWD) issued an official weather warning for the Uckermark district in Brandenburg. This warning is in effect from tomorrow, June 19, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Strong wind gusts are expected from the northwest with speeds of up to 55 km/h (15 m/s, 30 kn, Bft 7). According to news.de, flying light objects could be a problem. Therefore: secure loose items such as tents and covers to avoid damage.

The weather in the Uckermark is rather changeable today. With a temperature of 25°C and a humidity of 56%, it is pleasant in itself, even if it is not completely calm today with a wind speed of 18 km/h. Temperatures around 23°C are expected for the evening. You can find further details about hourly weather developments directly on the DWD website. NDR also offers ongoing reporting on severe weather warnings, as can be found at ndr.de, and shows which areas are affected.

Storm warnings at a glance

The warnings cover a wide range of different weather phenomena, from gusts of wind to thunderstorms to heavy rain. These warnings are divided into four levels: While a simple weather warning is issued in level 1, there are even warnings up to level 4 for serious events, which warn of extreme weather, such as hurricane gusts over 140 km/h. Further information can be found on portals such as unwetterzentrale.de, where the current weather situation and upcoming storms are updated promptly.

The Uckermark district is currently classified in level yellow, which means that careful measures should be taken. Advance warnings also have the advantage that they can be issued up to 48 hours in advance, leaving room for appropriate precautions, while acute warnings confirm the immediate arrival of a natural hazard.

In times when the weather can change quickly, it is important to be vigilant and regularly inform yourself about the current weather situation. The current temperatures and weather conditions until the night are mild, but the coming hours of gusts of wind should not be underestimated!
