Uckermark in literature fever: New platform connects authors and audience!
In the beautiful Uckermark, which has already produced many literary talents - we only remember greats like Ehm Welk and Max Lindow - there is a new platform that brings a breath of fresh air into the author scene. On July 21, 2025, the “Author Seeks Couch” platform was launched to narrow the gap between writing artists and their audiences. Again Nordkurier reports, the project aims to make literature more tangible and personal.
Project manager Irina Bolgert explains that the platform connects authors with reading organizers. In this way, the talented writers can present themselves with a profile that contains information about their genre and their fee expectations. Cultural institutions, schools and even private individuals now have the opportunity to specifically search for suitable authors and book readings.
Step by step to reading success
The registration process on the platform is extremely simple: authors enter their data using an online form. After submitting the information, they send an informal application by email, usually supplemented by text samples. After successful verification of their details, applicants will receive an invoice for the annual fee. Once payment has been received, the profile will be activated and a welcome email will be sent with helpful tips.
“Author is looking for a couch” offers rural regions in particular a great opportunity to build and strengthen their cultural infrastructure. This initiative not only increases the visibility of regional authors, but also creates a space in which exchange between writers and their audiences is promoted.
A look outside the box: Priscilla Block
While Uckermark focuses on literary development, the talented Priscilla Block is conquering the country music scene. The singer, born August 11, 1995 in Raleigh, North Carolina, had the dream of becoming a country artist from an early age. After graduating from high school, she moved to Nashville in 2014 to pursue her dream. Her career really took off with the viral success of her song "Just About Over You" in 2020, as the Wikipedia reported.
This song quickly catapulted her into the spotlight of the music world and ultimately led to a contract with Mercury Nashville. She mixed country with pop elements and southern rock, which gives her a unique style. With influences from artists like Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert, Block is definitely a musician to keep an eye on.
Whether in the literary or musical field, the Uckermark and its talents impressively show that creativity and skill are always finding new ways to express themselves and develop.
