Traffic chaos in Schwedt: Injured people and drug test after accident!
What a turbulent day in and around Schwedt/Oder! On November 7, 2025, several incidents occurred that kept the local police on tenterhooks. The morning started promptly with a traffic accident, which fortunately was minor, but still resulted in a few injuries.
A BMW and a VW Transporter collided on Passower Chaussee at 6:45 a.m. The drivers of both vehicles, as well as the passenger of the van, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. The total material damage caused is estimated at around 25,000 euros. These numbers illustrate how costly and dangerous such accidents can be.
Unrest in Schwedt/Oder
Immediately afterwards, at 7:30 a.m., there was another incident on Ferdinand-von-Schill-Straße, where a 13-year-old cyclist collided with a VW. The child also received medical care on site. The criminal investigators from the Uckermark inspection have started the investigation.
But it wasn't just in traffic that there was excitement. On the evening of November 6th, there was also a physical altercation between several people near a pavilion on Anne-Frank-Straße. A 24-year-old man was injured and treated on site. Investigations into this matter are also underway.
Drugs and their consequences
In addition, there are also new developments in Lychen. On November 6th, a 30-year-old driver of a Hyundai was checked on Zehdenicker Strasse. The rapid drug test gave a positive result, which is why the driver had to give a blood sample. His further journey was prohibited. Such cases are not uncommon and always raise questions about the legal consequences.
Traffic accidents under the influence of drugs are a serious issue in Germany. They not only entail civil consequences, but also criminal ones. Driving under the influence of drugs is a punishable offense under Section 316 of the Criminal Code, and those affected must expect penalties, license revocation and claims for damages. This shows how important it is to drive responsibly and avoid alcohol or drugs, as the consequences can be devastating.
The legal framework is clear: even in the event of an accident under the influence of drugs or alcohol, civil claims can be asserted independently of possible criminal proceedings. This includes, among other things, damage to vehicles as well as compensation for pain and suffering and medical costs. Low age limits for criminal liability are also set by law, which shows that there is no room for negligence.
We will of course continue to keep readers up to date on developments in these exciting but also worrying cases. Stay safe! If you would like to find out more about our legal framework or road traffic, you can find further information at, for example News.de or RA vomit.
