Christmas magic in Brandenburg: Looking for sponsors for festive trees!

The anticipation of Advent is increasing in Brandenburg an der Havel! It will soon be festive and Christmassy in the city center when the city marketing and tourism company Brandenburg an der Havel (STG) decorates the streets with magnificent Christmas trees. As stadt-brandenburg.de reports, private individuals and companies can become active and sponsor a tree. For just 35 euros you can take over a tree on Hauptstrasse or Steinstrasse and secure a place under the festively lit fir trees.

Anyone who gets involved as a sponsor can not only look forward to a name tag on the tree, but will also be featured on a special website. Those interested can register their sponsorship via email or WhatsApp or inquire directly at the tourist information center.

Decoration campaign for the little ones

Daycare and school children are particularly in demand to ensure that the Christmas trees are not only beautifully decorated but also creatively decorated. As brandenburg-live.com informs, the little artists can attach their self-made jewelry until December 12, 2024. The STG will award prizes for the most beautiful trees - a jury will choose the most creative and original decorations that the children put up. There are prizes in the form of shopping vouchers provided by CITY SCHEXS.

Between December 2nd and 12th, little decorators are invited to hang their works of art on the trees. Of course, the decorations should be winter-proof - from bunting to sparkling poinsettias, anything that suits the cold season is allowed.

A look outside the box

Another interesting aspect is the importance of local trees. The Christmas tree in front of the Chancellery in Berlin last year (2022) also came from Brandenburg. According to esslinger-zeitung.de it was an approximately 15 meter high spruce tree that was felled in the Neuzelle monastery forest. This forestry company manages over 9,000 hectares of forest and is one of the largest in Germany. A great end to the year, which will also see the Christmas markets in the city center shine! How nice that the tradition of decorating Christmas trees in Brandenburg is being revitalized.

So anyone who would like to become part of this festive atmosphere should not hesitate and sign up to be a tree sponsor. It will be a nice way to enjoy the pre-Christmas season with family or friends and bring a little Christmas sparkle to the city.
