Christoph Reiter: Farewell after successful coaching years in Chieming!
Grabenstätt, Deutschland - On May 30, 2025, Christoph Reiter resigned from his post after five years as a coach of SG Chieming/Grabenstätt. In an emotional farewell in the Grabenstätter Sportpark, riders were honored by his players and fans with a signed jersey. The last home game of the 2024/25 season against SG Unterwössen/Schlechting ended with a 3-1 win for the home team, which rounded off the day for riders. After moving to TSV Siegsdorf, Reiter will support the coaching team there.
Reiter, who is 55 years old and has a C license, started his career at SG Chieming/Grabenstätt in 2021. At first he was responsible for the second team and supported the then head coach Johann Berdan in the first. A big highlight of his time was the promotion to the district class in May 2022. The second team was also able to climb into the B-Class in the same year.
success and challenges
Under Reiter's leadership, however, the first team also experienced difficult times. After relegation from football district class 4, the team fought with a bloodletting in the squad and had to prepare for the A-Class again. Thanks to the integration of younger players and improved training, the mood in the team was significantly increased. In the past season, the first team ended the season in a respectable fifth place, while the second team reached a midfield in the B-Class.
In an interview, rider expressed the desire to annoy the favorites of the league. He particularly noticed the distance of four points to the league leader TSV Petting. When the team sought a stress -free year at the beginning of the season, the goal of the immediate return developed unexpectedly after winning four out of five games. The creation of an environment to integrate young players was of crucial importance.
The license system in football
As a trainer, riding has a C license that is a prerequisite for working in amateur football. DFB licenses are divided into different stages and trainers have to regularly complete further training to keep their licenses. This applies in particular to higher-quality licenses such as B, A and PRO licenses that are cost and time-consuming, but lead to decisive qualifications for trainers in higher leagues.
The SG Chieming/Grabenstätt plans to fight again with a strong first team in the coming season. The future of the club seems to be secure and the positive impulses from Reiter's time should be carried on. Immediately after the last matchday on May 31st in Reit im Winkl, a celebration is planned to duly appreciate Christoph Reiter's season.
In the end it remains to be seen how the developments at SG Chieming/Grabenstätt will be shaped under new management and whether the promotion to the district class can be realized again.
