Leipzig, Deutschland - The European Gymnastics Championships in Leipzig offered a mixed picture for the German gymnasts. Nils Dunkel and Timo Eder competed in the all-around final, with dark after a strong performance finished fifth. With a total of 80.932 points, he stayed just behind the medal ranks, while Eder achieved 13th place with 79.231 points after stabilizing himself in the course of the competition. Adem Asil from Turkey was the new European champion with 82,398 points, followed by Leo Saladino from France and Krisztofer Meszaros from Hungary, who took the silver and bronze place.
Dunkel, who is 28 years old, started the competition promising. After a strong performance at the pommel horse, where he scored 14,100 points, he led to the rings with 13,500 points. However, it was tragic that in the last exercise, the jump, with 12,733 points, he could not achieve the necessary result and thus lost sight of the medal.
Timo Eder's return in the national competition
Timo Eder, who traveled to Leipzig as a mixed European champion at the age of 18, also showed his talent in the past competitions in Germany. On the first day of the German Championships, he missed the title only very thin and secured the bronze medal in all -around with 81,430 points. He referred last year's winner Pascal Brendel to fourth place.
In the device finals, Eder competed on four disciplines. Despite small difficulties in departure when it comes to 14.025 points, he was able to achieve the silver medal at the pommel horse. At the bar and bars, however, he had to be satisfied with sixth place while taking fourth place on the ground.
