Duck race inspires Bad Dürkheim: Almost 2000 rubbers at the start!

This year's city festival in Bad Dürkheim, which takes place from May 28th to June 1, 2025, attracts numerous visitors and fulfills the city center with cultural highlights and entertaining activities. Especially the duck race, which took place on Thursday, May 29, was very interested. Almost 2000 yellow rubber ducks swam for victory on a distance of 344 meters on Isenach. The event was moderated by Mayor Natalie Bauerschmitt (CDU), who welcomed the numerous spectators.

Already on the opening day, May 28th, visitors were able to enjoy culinary delights from local gastronomy from 3 p.m. The regular restaurants opened at 5 p.m. On the first evening, the program was rich and offered a strike ensemble as well as appearances by the anonymous Giddarische and the C3ntral house band.

The city festival offers a multifaceted program: In addition to the duck race, it contains live bands of various styles, theater performances and handicrafts for children. A special highlight is the Museum-Machtag, which gives visitors the chance to actively participate and gain new experiences.

gastronomic offers and Sundays open to sales

Gastronomy plays a central role during the city festival. Local wine and restaurants enrich the offer. The stalls are on May 29 from 11 a.m. and must be open until 4 p.m. The open Sunday on June 1st from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. also offers visitors the opportunity to explore the shops in the city center.
