Family feud exposes: four arrests after a fatal station shot!
In August 2024 there was a fatal incident at Frankfurt am Main Central Station, where a 27-year-old was shot. The alleged shooter, also 27 years old and from Baden-Württemberg, was arrested at the scene shortly after the crime. There are also indications that he did not act alone, but that several people are involved in the incident. In this context, three further arrests were made in Lahr and Breisach on the Rhine.
The arrested are related to the main suspect and are said to have been involved to different degrees. A 33-year-old man is accused of having coordinated the act in the background, while a 28-year-old traveled to Mainz to shoot the 27-year-old there if he should meet him. Another 28-year-old is suspected of having agreed with the others to kill the 27-year-old. All three are accused of indirect homicide and the appointment for a crime.
motive and family connections
The investigation shows that the possible background of the crime is a suspected family feud in Turkey. The alleged perpetrator and the victim are both Kurds from Turkey, near the Syrian border. According to reports, the 27-year-old is said to have killed a man in Turkey and fled to Germany for fear of revenge. Surprisingly, the identity of the alleged back man could also be: the victim's uncle is identified as one of the important actors in this context.
As early as December 2023, four other men were arrested in the region, who are also related and are said to have been involved. All those arrested are currently in custody, and the public prosecutor has applied for arrest warrants while their apartments were searched. This course illustrates the complexity of the case and the family interaction within the part of the crime.
crime statistics and social context
The possible link of such incidents with the general crime development in Germany is also important. According to the police crime statistics (PKS) of the Federal Criminal Police Office, there was a decline of 1.7 percent to around 5.84 million crimes in 2024. The decline is mainly attributed to fewer cannabis delics as a result of partialization. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the increase in certain crimes that affect the feeling of security of the population continues to trigger concern.
In a comprehensive context, the statistical data show that crimes against life, such as murder and manslaughter, only make up 0.1 percent of registered crimes, while in 2024 285 murder victims were to be complained about, 14 less than in the previous year. Despite the decline in certain crimes, the social perception of security and crime in Germany remains a complex topic, strongly characterized by individual experiences and media reporting.
The current developments related to the shocking incident in Frankfurt illustrate how deeply rooted conflicts, in this case within families, can lead to serious and tragic consequences. Observations and findings from cases such as this call to deal and search for preventive solutions to avoid such violent acts.
