In the refugee accommodation on Kirchenstrasse in Schweiburg, Wesermarsch district, there was a fire today that broke out around 3:10 p.m. According to Kreiszeitung , all residents have fled outside. At the time of the incident, a total of seven of the approximately 20 residents were in the accommodation. The exact causes of the fire are still unclear, but the police exclude an ingress from the outside.
The fire developed in an extension of a former restaurant that is used as a living area for refugee people. This extension is completely burned out and all of the property damage is estimated at around 100,000 euros. After the fire, volunteer fire departments from surrounding places with around 150 emergency services had to move to prevent the flames from spreading to the main building. NDR must stay.
