Fireworks drift storks from Thräna: offspring shocked and died!

In the district of Thräna in the Leipzig district, an illegal fireworks have brought tragic consequences for the local white storks. In the night of May 16, 2025, the fireworks were ignited about 500 meters from the stork nest. Jörg Spörl, a stork supervisor, reported that the young pair of stork then left the nest and left four eggs. The Horst, which was occupied at the breeding season, has been uninhabited since mid -May.
