Big Opel meeting in Tannhausen: Jubilee for the 40th anniversary!

The International Opel meeting will take place in Tannhausen on June 7 and 8, 2025. The reason for this big event is the 40th anniversary of the Opel Club Tannhausen. This meeting will be organized for the 17th time, after a nine -year break. The event was carried out for the first time in 1985, where around 150 vehicles started. In the 1990s, the meeting with over 6000 Opel vehicles reached its largest dimension. Up to 2000 Opel vehicles are expected for this year's event, and participants travel from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Bosnia.

The festive square in Tannhausen, which is about six hectares in size, will be the scene of the event. Saturday starts at 10 a.m., with the first participants arrive on Friday evening. Entertainment is also taken care of: DJ set from 5 p.m., followed by a live appearance of the "diving band" at 8.30 p.m. In addition, a supply tent, a bar and a pils car will be available. A special highlight of the exhibition is the original Kadett C Rallye Coupé by Christian Geistdörfer, which will attract the visitor's eyes.

program and special highlights

Sunday is all about the 12th brand open old and youngtimer meeting. Here the vehicles must be at least 20 years old, for which other brands as well as trucks, tractors and two -wheelers are approved. Around 850 vehicles are expected on this day. The evaluation of the cars starts at 9 a.m., followed by live music from the band "Oldschool" from 11 a.m. A special event will be the cup ceremony at 3:30 p.m., in which 46 prizes are awarded. Another highlight is the "beer box stacking" with a car crane that will captivate the participants.

For visitors who arrive with an Opel or classic car, there is a gift. The organization of the meeting is supported by more than 240 helpers and 16 local companies. Future plans of the Opel Club include participation in the State Garden Show 2026 in Ellwangen with a vehicle exhibition.

Review of past meetings

Special honors in the cup allocation included the oldest vehicle, a BMW Dixie from 1928, while the most beautiful classic car was an Opel Manta from 1972. The categories "fascination tuning" and "special class" also showed the variety of automobiles and the love of the participants on automotive history. The high expression of interest, especially older generations, illustrated the nostalgic support of such events.

The current Opel meeting in Tannhausen not only promises a celebration of the automobile, but also a connection between people who come together through their passion for historical vehicles. Anyone who is in the area or has an interest in classic cars is cordially invited to take part in this special weekend.
