Lipowitz continues to fight for victory on the Dauphiné tour!
Florian Lipowitz, the 24-year-old German cyclist, remains in a strong position in the race for the overall ranking of the Critérium du Dauphiné 2025. He is currently defending his second place after reaching the fifth stage of Saint-Priest to Macon over 183 kilometers in the main field. Lipowitz is currently only four seconds behind the leader Remco Evenepoel, who fell shortly before the finish, was not punished, as this remained without consequences due to the three-kilometer rule, like Welt reported.
The day victory on the fifth stage went to Jake Stewart from Great Britain, followed by Axel Laurence from France and Norwegian Sören Waerenskjold. The German team suffered sad news when Pascal Ackermann had to give up the race after a fall. Next weekend, there are heavy mountain tests for the drivers, while the focus is on the three-way battle between the tour stars Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel. Lipowitz expressed the desire to achieve a top ten placement in the next stages.
