Knick's celebration: Towns inspires with 24 points in the fourth quarter!

The New York Knicks won on May 26, 2025 in an exciting game against the Indiana Pacers with 106-100 and thus ended their first defeat in the Eastern Conference Finals week. Karl-Anthony Towns showed an outstanding performance by scoring 20 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and thus led the Knicks to victory. With 15 rebounds he was also the player with the most rebounds of the game. This strong second half was crucial for the success of the Knicks, who were previously in the series with 0-2 and after a gap of 15 points late in the third quarter of the quarter.

towns' impressive performance in the last quarter was particularly remarkable because he scored 15 points in the first 3:58 minutes of the fourth quarter and handed the Knick the lead. It was only the second time in the history of the Knicks that a player scored 20 points in a quarter in a playoff game. The franchise record of 21 points in a quarter belongs to Jalen Brunson, who also contributed 23 points in this game, even though he only scored 6 out of 18 out of the field, but converted 10 out of 10 free throws.

under pressure, but positive adjustments

Before the game, there were considerations to change the Knicks starting line -up after they had done poorly in the first two games of the series. Josh Hart, who is described as the “heart and soul” of the team, could possibly be taken from the starting line -up. Nevertheless, hard commented on these possible changes and emphasized his flexibility in different roles. The existing starting line-up, which came about after the violation of Julius Randle and a subsequent trade, includes hard, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, which is the fourth best five in the NBA this season.

In the first half, Indiana led the Knicks 58-45, which clearly shows that the Pacers played a strong first half. Tyrese Haliburton scored 20 points for the team, while Myles Turner and Pascal Siakam also performed strong performances. Despite an impressive 16-2 advantage in fast-break, it was not enough to stop the Knicks, which prevailed in the fourth quarter with 36 points against the weak 20 points of the Pacers.

forward view

The Knicks will aim to compensate for the series in the next game and take advantage of the good form of Towns and Brunson to challenge Indiana. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau praised Towns for his aggressiveness and scoring skills, while the team tries to create the turn in the series.

The Knicks completed the game with a field throw rate of 43.6 % and met 11 of 32 three -point throws. In contrast, the Pacers had an overall quota of 44.2 %, but were only able to transform 5 out of 25 three -point throws. It will be exciting to see whether the kinks can build on their momentum and confirm the next games in the series.
