Baltic Dance e.V. receives Silver Star of Sport in Linstow!
Today, on November 11, 2025, the “Baltic Dance” club in Linstow was awarded the coveted silver star of sport. Minister Stefanie Drese presented the award, recognizing the remarkable work of the association, which was founded in 2020. With the “Baltic Motion” project, the club not only achieved national victory in the “Stars of Sports” competition, but also impresses with its innovative approach to children and young people in the region.
The initiative aims to promote exercise and creative development and creates low-threshold access that is independent of financial resources or previous sporting experience. The prize money of 2,500 euros will help the club to further expand its activities and motivate even more children and young people to become active. The club will now represent Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the federal “Stars of Sports” award ceremony.
The competition itself, which takes place on three levels - regionally, in the federal states and finally nationwide - is an initiative of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) in cooperation with the Federal Association of German Volksbanks Raiffeisenbanken. Since 2004, the winners have been awarded by the Federal President or Chancellor. This year, a total of four sports clubs from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania qualified, including the DLRG local group Laage-Kronskamp with its project “Bathing rules training for more safety on and in the water” and the Malchin gymnastics and sports club with the “Integrative ball sports facility”.
