The ice cream season in Malchow has opened its doors, and with a spooky highlight. Under the motto “Happy Halloween”, around 120 guests flocked to the ice rink on November 1, 2025 to do their first laps on the ice together. Many of the visitors appeared in scary costumes, which added to the festive atmosphere. The impressively decorated hall, with atmospheric lighting design, further increased the spooky factor. According to Nordkurier, hall manager Martin Noffz explained that the start of the season always takes place on a Friday, which this year coincided perfectly with Halloween Day.

The ice rink's regular winter opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on the second Friday of each month it is open until 8 p.m. The ice rink's new, energy-efficient refrigeration systems could help ensure that even more events can be held in the future. A first highlight is already just around the corner: On November 17, 2024, the Malchow Wolves will compete against the Neubrandenburg Blizzards in the Ice Hockey Baltic Sea League.
