Break-ins shake Ludwigslust-Parchim: Police are hunting unknown perpetrators
In the past week, several break-ins have occurred at various locations in the Ludwigslust-Parchim area. The cities of Wittenburg and Picher were particularly affected, where unknown perpetrators broke into single-family homes. Cash and other valuables were stolen with an estimated damage of around 3,000 euros daily news reported. The burglaries took place between August 16 and 23, 2025, and the criminal police investigation is already well underway.
A striking aspect of the investigation is that the perpetrators used force to gain access to the affected residential buildings. However, in the town of Dobin am See, the burglars failed in their attempt to break into a parked car and a single-family home. This resulted in material damage amounting to several hundred euros. The police have secured traces and are currently evaluating them in order to track down the perpetrators, also reports Police MV.
Burglary security tips
It makes sense for homeowners to invest in burglary-resistant doors and windows. Tested burglary-resistant windows should at least correspond to resistance class RC 2. In addition to mechanical security, certified alarm systems and outdoor lighting with motion detectors can be a useful addition to burglary protection. These measures can deter potential burglars and help increase your own security.
The recent break-ins in Ludwigslust-Parchim once again show how important it is to take security precautions and pay attention to your own living situation. The Criminal Investigation Department's investigation continues and citizens are urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
